I'm not so sure about that. The spirits have stolen a lot of weird stuff from us before. But never stuff like clothes. There's the part about the lanterns, too. I was speaking with Bruce about this recently. Do you remember that play about the fire snatchers? The ones who stole the other people's lanterns were carrying lanterns themselves. Spirits don't carry them.
[ He hadn't considered that. But it had just been some stupid play... Vanitas had never assumed the spirits were actually trying to tell them something. ]

[ Realizing the spirits had been trying to convey a message with that whole feast-induced dream coma for two weeks has caused Riku to scrutinize every interaction he's had with the spirits, he doesn't think it's just a play, not when they also went so far as to temporarily steal their belongings. That feels too much like a practical lesson. ]
There's people living under the lake. Maybe they've been hiding in the downtown area all this time?
[ Vanitas is quiet for a few moments, considering this, looking at his tablet without really seeing it. This was a whole world... Vanitas knows better than most just what can exist in the Darkness. ]
